WHO IS THIS GUY?
  
     Stephen R. Jaffe is a native of Michigan.  He was educated at an all-boys prep school (see Dead Poets Society for reference), the University of Michigan and Wayne State University Law School.  He moved to California following law school, where he has practiced law as a civil trial lawyer and earned the highest possible rating for professional competence and integrity from the leading national law directory and other recognition of professional achievement.

      Mr. Jaffe returned to Michigan In 1997.  While back in his home state, he began to publish op-ed columns which have appeared in The Detroit Free Press, The Detroit News, The San Francisco Chronicle and The Burlington (Vermont) Free Press.  A social commentator as well as a political writer, Mr. Jaffe's columns address a wide range subjects with particular emphasis on social, legal, medical and mental health issues.

      Responding to the unexpected illness of one of his sons, Mr. Jaffe is now a fervent and passionate writer and advocate on behalf of the mentally ill and their families.  He is the Host of two weekly online support groups for the mentally ill, their families and friends.

     Mr. Jaffe is divorced and has three adult sons.  He lives in California and is writing a memoir of his experience as the father of his mentally ill son.
